Kristy Angen, Psy.D

Professional Bio & Approach:

Some of the most important things we carry are the ones we’ve never had the chance to fully explore.

I’m a psychologist and art therapist with over 15 years’ experience working individuals who are trying to understand themselves more deeply. Whether you’re a teenager trying to make sense of who you are, or an adult navigating the weight of life’s complexities - this is the space for you.

My approach is relational and psychodynamic - which means I’m less focused on quick fixes and more interested in the underlying patterns, early experiences, and relationship dynamics that shape how we move through the world.

My work is rooted in the understanding that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship—one built on trust, curiosity, and a shared commitment to growth. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they explore their inner world and the patterns that shape their lives. Together, we work to deepen insight, strengthen emotional awareness, and build tools for navigating life with greater clarity and intention.

Whether we are addressing trauma, relationship patterns, communication, identity development, or emotional regulation, I tailor the therapeutic process to meet each client where they are. I value open dialogue, reflective exploration, and the development of a therapeutic environment that supports both vulnerability and empowerment.

Therapy with me is a collaborative process. I show up as a real, engaged presence because I believe the relationship between therapist and patient is itself a powerful vehicle for change. My goal is to help clients cultivate a more grounded sense of self, develop healthier ways of relating to others, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and meaningful.
